Hazel Glen College is located in the City of Whittlesea, Melbourne’s second fastest growing municipality. It expected that the population in the City will continue to grow rapidly.The construction of Hazel Glen College was announced in the 2012/13 State Budget. The College will open for the commencement of the 2014 school year for Prep to Grade 6. Growth of the College will be rapid, with early indications that the school will grow to 1000 students in only a few years.
It will be the aim of all staff to help the children settle into their new school community and build those skills, attitudes and values they will need to fully participate in the rich educational life of our College.
Construction of an Early Learning Centre, comprising, kinder/maternal health centre co-located on the College site will create an exciting and innovative early childhood education precinct.

The modern facilities and teaching and learning practice represent an exciting opportunity for students and parents, and will establish the school’s culture, values and nature.
The College is committed to information and communications technology with flexibility to allow access to IT and communications equipment anywhere within the learning spaces.The College has been designed and built to incorporate the latest facilities for engaging students and comprises:
•Two Learning Centres, each comprising, eight general purpose classrooms that feature open plan working areas with ICT facilities throughout, resource/library centre, wet areas, withdrawal area, staff centre and indoor toilets.
•Arts Centre, (comprising, music room, visual arts room, breakout room and kitchen
•Administration centre, Staffroom and main Resource / iGen Centre as well as a full size gymnasium with canteen facility and associated amenities
The College will also include a secondary school, to be opened in 2015 for year 7 students. Construction of the Secondary School will commence in February 2014. Hazel Glen College will be committed to the academic and personal growth of every student. A focused curriculum, dedication to innovation and a culture of care, will help us meet this commitment. Our role is to help every student reach their potential. The College has been set up to showcase innovative practices in the use of ICT and focused student learning. The use of interactive TVs, 1:1 iPad program and a fully functional TV studio are features that will be incorporated.
